MORGAN SALES LIST

MINER MORGAN

SALES LIST

Miner Institute maintains a herd of Morgan Horses as the core of the educational program. All horses owned by Miner Institute are donated, home bred, or the result of a donated stallion service. Our goal is to raise a few foals each year to carry the Heart's Delight Farm registered prefix of "HD." All horses are part of the NYSMHS Futurity program and are eligible to compete as young stock and in the Futurity Alumni classes. As well as our own horses, we maintain free leases on breeding stock to continue to improve the bloodlines and quality in our herd.

For more information, pictures or video, contact Karen Lassell at lassell@whminer.com or call 518-846-7121, ext. 120Prices are subject to change.

HD KNOX

(Canon x Spring's National Velvet) (2020)

Bay Gelding

About as classic and correct in Morgan looks as one might and 14.3 hands, “Floyd” took some time to mature to be ready for a summer of full-time training; he was worth the wait! He lunges and longlines well and is green but nicely started under saddle. Floyd enjoys his people time and his work- he could likely take his career in a few directions; western pleasure, dressage or sport horse, or all-around family mount.

HD ATHENA

(Canon x UVM Loyalty) (2020)

Bay Mare

“Minnie” is a tall, feminine mare that’s got the weathervane trot to go with her pretty looks. She lunges and longlines well and is well on her way to being hooked to be a nice pleasure driving or carriage horse. She was backed and lightly started under saddle this summer as well. Her pedigree is a who’s who with UVM Springfield on the topside and the golden cross of UVM Lash x UVM Mystic through her dam. Drive her, ride her, or breed her!

HD INDEPENDENCE

(Canon x HD Mexico) (2021)

Bay Gelding

Mr. Congeniality is “Indy” through and through! If we ever need a horse to meet and greet the public, he’s the first one we go to. Want a horse that runs to see you at the gate? Begs to be the one you take out? 14.3 hands tall and all Morgan in looks? Indy’s the guy. Lunges, longlines and green started under saddle, he’s ready to continue his training and could easily make a lovely western horse, dressage mount, trail horse and all-around best friend.

HD VENICE

(Canon x HD Villenova) (2022)

Chestnut Gelding

“Tony” began his training in earnest this summer learning lunging, longlining and has been backed. He’s a solid, well-balanced young horse just shy of 14.2h, but has a deep enough barrel to take up a good leg. By a UVM Springfield son and out of a Legacy’s Viking bred mare, Tony’s got the perseverance to keep up with whatever you might like to do.

HD FRIENDSHIP

(Privilege x UVM Loyalty) (2022)

Bay Stallion

A proven cross of World Champion Western Pleasure sire and classic government Morgan beauty, “Amigo” is tall, dark and handsome!  Certainly, he’d turn heads in the sport division with his length of stride and thoughtful demeanor, he’s also well in line to follow his father’s and sibling’s footsteps jogging through the in-gate. He lunges and longlines well and is green under saddle.  Amigo is a sweet tempered and easy to handle young stallion, still living in the pasture with his peers. He’s still growing too- currently standing 15.2+, he’s likely to top out near 16h like his grandsire, UVM Springfield.

HD ELMIRA

(Pondbrook Sampson x Spring's National Velvet) (2023)

Bay Mare

Her pedigree shows exactly who she is! She’s got the sporty moves and easy-going temperament of her grandsire, Otterbrook Xenophon and the pretty, light on her feet from her dam, Velvet who produced a world champion dressage horse in HD Jefferson. Taking her first big horse show all in stride, “Ellie” scored a blue ribbon with 74.4% in sport horse in hand and was the reserve champion in the division at the 2025 NYSMHS Regional Championship.

HD PAVILION

Privilege x HD Villenova) (2024)

Bay Gelding

“Leo” is a looker! He’s got the legs and body of his Western Pleasure sire, but has the sweet, yet timid, temperament of his dam’s family. Once the trust is formed, the Velvet family is beyond loyal, but you’ll have to earn that trust through patience and a soft, confident presence. Gratefully, Leo is looking for that person to bring out the best in him as he learns new skills and tries hard to please! His kind eyes will bring you in and make the journey well worth it.
